Magic looking much better at the RSPCA
Gemma and Magic were two horses that came into RSPCA Queensland care in September 2014 via our RSPCA Inspectorate. They were emaciated, unloved, and desperate for help.
It was a long road to recovery for both horses. Finally in June 2015, after almost a 300 day wait, Gemma and Magic were adopted together! Despite their time in care hoping for a second chance, we think it was well worth their wait. See just how far they have come in our video:
In October 2015, their original owner pled guilty for 6 counts of breaching his duty of care under the Animal Care and Protection Act 2001 by failing to provide appropriate food, and treatment for their emaciated state. Their previous owner was fined $7,000 and court and professional costs, and is prohibited from owning horses for 3 years.
